On the road leading from Vnukovo airport to the center of Moscow, there were posters with portraits of the king of Saudi Arabia Salman. The title of “Custodian of two Holy mosques” was introduced to the Saudi kings instead of the treatment of “His Majesty” in 1986. Under the two shrines refers to the Holy Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and the Prophet’s mosque in Medina. Earlier this title belonged to the rulers of the Arab Caliphate, the Egyptian Mamelukes and the Ottoman sultans.

Recently it became known about the imminent visit to Moscow of king of Saudi Arabia. Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud needs to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and sign a series of documents. Monday, October 2, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said , RIA “Novosti”that the visit will take place on 5 October. This will be the first visit of the head of the ruling dynasty of Saud in Russia for all history of existence of the two States.
