The infamous French magazine Charlie Hebdo published a caricature of us President Barack Obama on the results of U.S. presidential elections, which took place on 8 November. The cover image of the new issue published on the website of the publication.
On the cover of the magazine, on sale November 9, Obama painted a fleeing shot at by the police. The picture is accompanied by the inscription: “Obama. New citizen like the others.”
Election in USA took place the day before. According to preliminary results, the Republican candidate Donald trump won a victory over his rival, the representative of the Democratic party, Hillary Clinton, with the support of 279 of electoral College (with 270 needed).
The billionaire, in which victory is not believed by many, has made the first appeal to compatriots, in which he urged Democrats and Republicans to unite, said he would seek cooperation with other countries and pledged to be a President “for all Americans.” Clinton has already conceded defeat and congratulated trump on the victory.
The magazine Charlie Hebdo publishes cartoons on the current events politics and public life. The publication has been repeatedly criticized for risky choice of topics for cartoons, including in Russia. So, in November last year, the magazine published two cartoons on the theme of the crash of the Russian aircraft A321 in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, which caused outrage in Moscow.
