Science and faith – separately – said in 2012, Nikolay Drozdov in an interview to the portal “Orthodoxy and the world”. – And then, scientists are beginning to get close to the fact that our universe is not eternal, that she was someone created. Even in children’s books that the universe emerged 15 billion years ago in one certain point in which was concentrated the whole mass of the modern Universe. And suddenly, in this one point caused the primary explosion. It’s just the beginning of the old Testament: “And God said: let there be light. And there was light”.
In the same interview Drozdov admitted that she often visited the monasteries and were even thinking about monasticism: “go to the monks for me, it’s quite possible.

ROC suggested edit KJV
As transfers RIA “Novosti”, at the conference from the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, a proposal was made to edit the existing king James version of the nineteenth century – most common Russian version of the book. The need for such measures was announced by the Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.
“I think that going for new complete translation of the Bible today is not worth it, but it would be possible to prepare an edited edition of the Synodal translation, where the most obvious inaccuracies would be corrected,” said the Metropolitan.
According to him, to prepare such a revision would be necessary a group of highly qualified specialists in the field of biblical studies”, in addition, the new version of the translation should get the approval of ecclesiastical authority”.
“NASB is not a sacred cow that cannot be touched. The inaccuracy of this translation is obvious and quite numerous,” said the Metropolitan.
In September, the President of the Russian Academy of education (RAO), Deputy Chairman of the Society of Russian language and literature Lyudmila Verbitskaya was offered to study the Bible in school. “The Bible, I think everyone should read. This spiritually-moral education, moral Foundation. So, such a course necessary. But, of course, the study must be voluntary,” she said.
