“Novaya Gazeta” has submitted the claim to the member of the Public chamber of Russia Artem Kiryanov and to the information Agency TASS, it follows from the filing of the Affairs of the Moscow arbitration court. According to the document, the lawsuit was filed on September 21, the first session on business is appointed to November 25.

The representative of the “New” explained “Vedomosti”that the publication requires to refute the statement Kiryanov published by TASS in early April that the newspaper allegedly conducts investigations on funds received from foreign organization, the Center for the study of corruption and organized crime (OCCRP), and does not pay the money from the taxes, using one-day firms.

The representative confirmed to TASS that the Agency received a copy of the lawsuit. “It seems to me that the “New” tries to limit my possibilities of manifestation of public interest in the actual and exciting for citizens”, – told “Vedomosti” Kiryanov.

Statement Kiryanov appeared in TASS after the investigation into the so-called Panama records. As a result of leakage of information from the database of the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, the media got information about the involvement of world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and their entourage to the schemes of money laundering and tax evasion.

As it became known, the search and study of the materials was done by members of the International consortium of journalists (ICIJ), the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and other publications. In total, the investigation involved more than 370 journalists from 76 countries of the world.

After the publication of “the Panama archive” Kir asked the Federal tax service (FNS) to conduct an audit in respect of “Novaya Gazeta”. A photograph of his appeal to the head of the FTS Mikhail Mishustin member of the Public chamber has posted on his page in Facebook. A message about the treatment in Kir’yanova on, in addition to TASS, spread many of the Russian media.
