In Omsk Orthodox priests attended the two-day military training on the basis of local center for the training of personnel of national guard troops (Regardie) N12, reported on the website of the Omsk diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

In first day, October 12, with the priests acting as assistants to commanders on work with the faithful soldiers, held classes on a dynamic computer simulator of the crew of the BTR-80A, training on the collection and analysis of the weapons, in particular Kalashnikov.

On the second day, the participants were introduced with the training center of the military unit in the village of Andreyevka, where they showed the everyday life of soldiers, their conditions of training, accommodation and food, the report said.

The institution of military clergy in the Russian army revived in 2009, in order primarily to promote anti-bullying and suicidal feelings in the army through the moral education of servicemen.

The clergy regularly conduct interviews with soldiers, together with them, participate in exercises, advance in areas local hostilities.
