Painting Claude Monet’s “Haystack”, written in 1891, sold at Christie’s auction in new York for a record for paintings of the famous French artist of 81.4 million dollars, reports Fox News. The previous record price for Monet’s paintings was installed in 2008 when his painting “water Lilies” was sold for 80.4 million dollars.

The painting “the Haystack” belongs to the series of 25 works of the same name by Monet. Estimated cost of works was about $ 40 million.
