Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill said that women should receive education, but to pursue the career they need without sacrificing motherhood. So he answered the question of one of participants of the II International Orthodox student forum in Moscow, reports TASS.
“Of course, education may be necessary. And well, when a woman, feeling their abilities, makes a career. And we see wonderful women, including in the government, among scientists, among diplomats”, – said the Patriarch, noting that “in some areas the female mind is more perceptive than men”.
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church drew attention to the fact that a career should not “distort the value-setting girls, women”. You need to marry and start a family, have a career, but parenting does not need to “carry on the periphery of my life” and completely hand over the children to relatives and nannies, he added.
“A woman who takes responsibility for the upbringing of children, a certain time this should be a priority for her. This is a special purpose of women is to be mother, Keeper of hearth and, of course, the teacher of their children. You cannot do limits and promoted refusal of a woman from children for the sake of career”, – concluded the Patriarch.
A year ago at the meeting of the Commission inter-Council presence of the Russian Orthodox Church at the organization of Church social activity and charity, concern was expressed by a family crisis. “The crisis of the family say such things as the weakening of ties between generations, the fashion for childless marriages, the emergence of the practice to place elderly parents in nursing homes,” – said the press service of the Moscow Patriarchate.
