Poland exhumed the remains of President Lech Kaczynski and his wife killed in a plane crash near Smolensk
In the Polish city of Krakow, was the exhumation of the remains of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria, who died in 2010 during the plane crash near the Russian Smolensk. The event was held on Monday, November 14, in the afternoon, according to the Agency PAP.
The sarcophagus, which rested Kaczynski, was on the territory of the Wawel castle. After its closure to visitors of the sarcophagus was opened in the presence of relatives of the victims, among whom was the daughter of the presidential couple in March and the twin brother of the President Yaroslav Kachinsky.
Was read the funeral prayer, after which the remains were taken to forensic medicine center of the medical College of the Jagiellonian University to study a group of international experts. In addition to traditional autopsies they arrange and gather samples for further laboratory tests. This is necessary to eliminate errors that were allegedly committed by the previous Commission of Russian physicians.
Until the end of 2016 it is planned to exhume the bodies of 10 victims in the crash, the rest of the procedure predlagaetsya to complete by the end of 2017. The exhumation of the bodies of the spouses Kaczynski became the first exhumations of bodies of victims of the Smolensk disaster.
The plane crash near Smolensk occurred on April 10, 2010. The pilot put the ship in conditions of poor visibility. The plane few meters did not reach the runway and collided with trees and then the ground. On Board was a Polish delegation of 96 high-ranking officials, including the President and his wife. They flew to the mourning events in Katyn. The disaster all on Board the plane people died.

Released in 2011 the final report the immediate cause of the crash is recognized as the crew’s decision not to leave on spare airdrome, and the system reasons – deficiencies in flight operations and crew training.
In September this year, the Polish special Commission investigating the causes of the disaster, found a number of inconsistencies in the case materials. According to the head of the Commission located Vertinskogo, in particular, after the crash the wreckage was moved.
It also became known that Poland is preparing new charges against the Russian dispatchers about the crash of 2010. According to the Polish side, there is reason to suspect managers intentionally bringing the flight to disaster in the air.
