Ten days after the attack of the crowd on two patrol cars with police officers in the city of Viry-Chatillon, hundreds of police officers staged a protest in Paris in support of colleagues. In the night of Tuesday, October 18, police blocked traffic on the Champs Elysees.

The action began at about midnight local time (02:00 Moscow time). The protest was attended by one hundred police officers of the Department of Essonne, who were joined by 400 police officers from around the region Ile-de-France, writes Le Parisien.

First, the protesters marched to the hospital Saint-Louis, which is still in a critical condition, one of the officers injured during the attack on 8 October. The policeman, who was in the car, in which an angry mob has launched a Molotov cocktail, were badly burned hands and face.

The procession then moved to the heart of the city. According to Le Figaro, police officers in plain clothes on patrol cars and on cars without insignia cruised around the arc de Triomphe and along the Champs Elysees with its lights flashing.
