The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was appointed head of the Kharkiv regional state
administration Yulia Svetlichnaya – she thus became the first female Governor in Ukraine. Svetlichnaya won the position by competition, becoming the best among a dozen candidates, said Poroshenko, presenting it to the public in the Kharkiv region.

Previously, the 32-year-old Svetlichny was the acting head of the region.

Poroshenko congratulated her on the appointment and applause from the audience handed a bouquet of flowers, reports “Interfax”. “I am very pleased that our team of heads of oblasts state administrations, of which I am proud, I am sure that the vast majority of strong governors, finally, there was a fantastic woman-a professional. The positivity of this purpose that the appearance of lady Julia
in politics marks the arrival of a new generation, which grew up and
fully formed at the time of independence (Ukraine)”, – the President added.

He also stressed that the newly appointed head of the region enjoys
its full and unconditional support.

Svitlychnyi scored the highest of the 10 candidates the number of points on
results of competition on replacement of vacant post of the head of regional state administration, which
took place on October 4 the National Agency for state
service in Kiev.

The previous head of Kharkiv regional state administration Igor rainin 29
August was appointed head of the presidential administration.
