Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved Russia’s refusal from participation in the international song contest “Eurovision-2017″, which ended yesterday in Kiev. Despite the fact that the finals has already taken place, after the fact, the Russian leader noted that Ukraine is unable to carry out activities “of this kind”.

“The fact that our structures are involved in this process, refused to participate, and I think I did the right thing. Because, in my opinion, the Kiev authorities are not able to conduct such events”, – Putin said (quoted by RIA “Novosti”).

Note that in Russia the finals was not aired as the First channel refused to show “Eurovision” after the decision of Kiev on Samoilova. The proposals of the European broadcasting Union to organize a videoconference for Samoylov from Moscow or to replace competitor Russia refused.

Victory at the international song contest won by Portugal Salvador Sobral.
