Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation congratulated Emmanuel macron, the official inauguration of the head of state in France and the formation of a new government. About it reported a press-service of the Kremlin.
During the conversation the two leaders “expressed a mutual willingness to develop the traditionally friendly Russian-French relations in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres”.
As reported in the Kremlin, Putin and macron have also agreed to work together on pressing international and regional issues, including the fight against terrorism. In particular, the policy emphasized the importance of “further cooperation in the framework of the “Normandy format” on settlement of the internal Ukrainian crisis based on the Minsk agreements”.
“We have also discussed possible upcoming personal contacts”, – concluded in the Kremlin. At the same time about a possible upcoming personal meeting presidents of Russia and France, not yet reported.
We will remind, earlier Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to the Makron, in which the Russian leader “confirmed his readiness to work together constructively on topical issues of bilateral, regional and global agenda, expressing confidence that it conforms to the fundamental interests of the peoples of Russia and France”.
May 15, macron was appointed the new Prime Minister, 46-year-old National Assembly Deputy from the party “the Republicans” Edouard Philippe. During the official ceremony Bernard Cazeneuve handed over power to the former mayor of Le Havre Philip.
The day before, may 14, at the Elysee Palace hosted the ceremony of transfer of power from the seventh President of the French Republic Francois Hollande eighth – Macron. In his inaugural speech, he promised the French to return the confidence and provide reliable protection.
“The French may 7, chose hope and the spirit of victory. The responsibility that I was entrusted, is a great honor, the importance of which I am aware. The world and Europe need more than ever in France,” said macron at the Elysee Palace.
“My mandate will be guided by two needs. To return to the French confidence. It will be a slow, necessary work. I am convinced that the France is not weakened… the French will be better protected,” he promised.
The leader of the movement “Forward” Emmanuel macron has won the elections with a second round of 66.06% of the vote. For his rival, the leader “National front” marine Le Pen is voted 33,94% of the voters.
