President Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with the current results of the campaign for import substitution of military products in Russia. “In General, the import substitution of military products achieved good results, but it should be borne in mind that more needs to be done”, – quotes “Interfax” of his statements at a meeting in Sochi dedicated to the military-industrial complex.

“I mean the development of the domestic electronic component base, first of all, contract implementation full life cycle of military products, as well as synchronizing the timing of the preparation of the necessary infrastructure with the supply of new weapons,” – said Putin.

He also said that by the end of the current year the share of modern weapons in the army of the country should be 42%, in the airborne troops – 58%. However, according to him, “in the upcoming programming period, it is important not only to continue to increase this figure, but also to bring the weapons system”, reports TASS. “The solution of this problem directly depends on the capacity of organizations of the military-industrial complex”, – said Putin.

According to him, the new state armaments program for 2018-2025 years will allow to increase the combat potential of the armed forces. “This program will be a critical tool in the implementation of military-technical policy of Russia in the sphere of defence and security until 2025 and beyond,” he said.

“The new programme aims to provide balanced development of weapons systems for all branches of the armed forces and the phased equipping their units, – said Putin. – This will significantly increase the combat potential of the Armed forces, to enforce the responsible tasks stipulated in military doctrine and national security strategy, and, in fact, several key documents.”
