Orthodoxy and indivisible Russia, said President Vladimir Putin in the film “the Patriarch” on the channel “Russia 1″. Putin in a television interview declared: “Orthodoxy and Russia were inseparable. And throughout history Christianity has played a very significant role in the life of our state and our nation, the President said. – The basis of our moral values primarily are Christian Orthodox values, and in this sense, it (Christianity), of course, is the most important part of the soul of Russia”. The President also noted the closeness of their views to the Patriarch, although he admitted that they are not always the same. Putin noted that from conversations with the Patriarch always
you can learn much: “We can argue about something, but our views are very close. It
smart, educated, and deep person, which always opens
new faces”.

In the first half of day Putin sent greetings to Kirill on the anniversary. In the telegram, he noted the “selfless service” of the ROC, consistent and solid defense of its ideals, as well as “tireless care of the preservation of the unique historical, cultural,
the spiritual heritage of Russia, the support of the Institute of family education
the younger generation”.

On the eve of Putin by his decree has awarded the Patriarch of Moscow
and all Russia Kirill with the order “For merits before Fatherland” I degree.
