Almost all the largest Russian oil companies, including “Rosneft”, “Gazprom Neft” and “LUKOIL”, revealed the British “counterparts”. The company say anything about them did not know, and are afraid of fraud, writes RBC.
In the public register in the UK is presented at least seven “daughters” of the Russian oil corporations registered from March to July 2016. Is Rosneft Oil Company Ltd., PJSC Tatneft Ltd., JSC Transneft Ltd., LUKOIL Oil Company Ltd., Surgutneftegas Ltd., PJSOC Bashneft Ltd., Public Joint Stock Company Gazprom Neft Ltd.
Six of the seven companies were originally registered at the same address (27 Old Gloucester Street London WC1N 3AX), shared by more than 970 companies.
In all cases, the founders specified “Rosneftegaz” and “Rosneft”, “Gazprom”, “LUKOIL”, the government and their shareholders.
The names of the Directors coincide with the names of Russian top-managers, including Igor Sechin, Vagit Alekperov, Alexander Dyukov, Nikolay Tokarev, Vladimir Bogdanov, and others.
Sources of RBC in at least two Russian companies say that the British “clones” do not have to these companies nothing. The majority of surveyed companies did not know about the existence of “doubles”.
It is not excluded that in this way the fraudsters can try to purchase financial products in the name of the Russian oil company, to order goods or services on credit, to access Bank accounts of victims, to deceive counterparties, involves RBC, based on data from the British antimodernism organization’s Fraud Advisory Panel.
In Companies House, the state registration chamber of great Britain, the Agency said that the law does not prohibited, the chamber does not have the right to refuse registration of the firm on the grounds that chosen for it the name corresponds to the name of the foreign company.
On the other hand, to appoint Directors without their consent, and submission of false information in the register is punishable by imprisonment and/or fine. According to Companies House, appointment of Directors or secretaries without their consent is one of the most common disorders. In 2015 year, there were 568 such cases.
