Italian Fund Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre (ACS) will hold on April 29 an action in memory of those killed for the faith of middle Eastern Christians, in order to attract the world’s attention to this issue.

According to the Italian publication Avvenire, on this day, 20 hours local time of the famous Roman Trevi fountain symbolically burned red.

“Systematic violation of the right to freedom of religion, especially against Christians, has become a Central issue in public debate, in order to avoid indifference and continue unbearable suffering of our brothers”, – the newspaper cites the Director of the ACS Alfredo Mantovano.

The Baroque Trevi fountain is the largest in the Italian capital. Its height is 25.9 and width of 19.8 meters. It was built in 1732-1762, architect Nicola Salvi and is adjacent to the facade of the Palazzo Poli, the second floor which in the 1830-ies were filming Princess Zinaida volkonskaia.
