Next week Russia may unilaterally stop flights to Tajikistan. This is due to the reluctance of Dushanbe to agree on the Russian airlines flying to the country from the new airport Zhukovskiy, says “Kommersant”. The transport Ministry urged to think about the fact that these flights serve migrant workers, which provides half of Tajikistan’s GDP.

In August, the Federal air transport Agency has issued permits for international flights from Zhukovsky “the Ural airlines”, “VIM airlines” and “Yamal”. Appointment to city of Tajikistan – Dushanbe and Khujand – received “Ural airlines”, the Russian foreign Ministry informed the Embassy of Tajikistan in late August. The purpose of these has still not been agreed, according to sources of publication. In Tajikistan believe that the airport belongs to Moscow and for access to flight Dushanbe it is necessary to revise the intergovernmental agreement.

The Ministry of transport believes that the airport Zhukovsky refers to Ramenskoye, and therefore refusal to accept the appointment of the Russian carrier violates the intergovernmental agreement on air communication.

Now “Metropolitan” route Moscow – Dushanbe are only two companies from Tajikistan, and in 2016 the cost of tickets it has increased by one third – this is now a minimum of 28 thousand rubles in both directions. The passenger traffic compared to 2015 increased more than 40%.

If the position of Tajik authorities have not been changed, the suspension of air traffic from the Russian Federation will come into force, to “avoid infringing on the rights” of Russian airlines, said the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation. Flights between Russia and Tajikistan can be canceled from the 8th of November.
