The national team of Russia on football fell from 38th to 53rd place in the updated ranking of the national teams in the world, published by the International Federation of football associations (FIFA).

Wards Stanislaus cherchesova, exempt from official matches of the qualifying tournament for the 2018 world Cup as hosts of the world Cup, in the October version of the world table of ranks simultaneously lost 15 positions.

In the FIFA rankings, the Russians occupied the lowest place in the ranking in its history, behind, among others, Senegal, Albania, Tunisia, Ghana, Uzbekistan and the Republic of the Congo.

Before that it was considered the worst result in 1998 when the national team of the Russian Federation in Anatoly Byshovets was 40th. Highest position – the third – the Russians occupied in April of 1996, when Oleg Romantseva.

Note that the sports Minister and the head of the Russian football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko year ago set the team the task gradual release of the leaders of the FIFA rankings.

Now, however, he urged not to pay attention to the FIFA rankings, in which Russia, in his words “will fall” because of the lack of official matches.
