The national team of Russia on football, in September, occupying the 38th place in September’s FIFA rankings will soon undergo a catastrophic decline in the world ranking.

In the next release, which is the international football Federation will unveil on October 20, the team of Stanislav Cherchesov will lose at least another half a dozen positions and will be outside the top fifty.

During the break for international matches, the Russians, exempt from qualifying for the 2018 world Cup on the rights of the owners, played just one friendly match, after losing to the team of Costa Rica (3:4).

Portal Football-rankings as of the end of September, even before the defeat from Costa Rica, took the Russian national team 52-th place. Calculations were carried out according to a special program that takes into account the criteria of the FIFA ranking, but possible small adjustments.

In any case we can already say that in October, Russia will occupy the lowest place in the ranking in its history, behind, among others, Senegal, Albania, Tunisia, Ghana, Uzbekistan and the Congo.

Before that it was considered the worst result in 1998 when the national team of the Russian Federation in Anatoly Byshovets was 40th. Highest position – the third – the Russians occupied in April of 1996, when Oleg Romantseva.

Note that the sports Minister and the head of the Russian football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko year ago set the team the task gradual release of the leaders of the FIFA rankings.
