Russian Paralympic athletes may not have time to submit orders for participation in the next season to guarantee their participation in the Paralympic winter games in 2018 in South Korea’s Pyeongchang.

Recall that the international Paralympic Committee disqualified the Paralympic Committee of Russia on the basis of the report of the independent Commission of the world anti-doping Agency under the leadership of Richard McLaren. Domestic athletes in this regard are unable to take part in international competitions.

“Now all goes to the fact that we do not have time to do certain procedures, for example, the deadline for the next world Cup ski races due to expire on 16 October. The same situation in many other Paralympic sports. If we don’t perform this season, don’t automatically go to the next, and hence to the Paralympics in Pyeongchang. But we hope that we still let it happen,” said coach Irina Gromova.

Gromova led to victory at the Paralympic games, many Russian athletes. Only at the last winter Olympics in Sochi, her pupils won almost a dozen gold medals out of 30.

She urged to make every effort to move the situation forward.

“We need start, and that means we need to knock on every door, do your best to think through all the steps. I think that the leaders of the Russian Paralympic Committee, now is the time to solve these problems,” – said Gromov.
