Russian curlers for the first time in history made it to the semifinals of the European championship
The Russian men’s team for the first time in their history managed to reach the semi-finals of the European championship on Curlingwhich passes these days in the Scottish Breeched.
In the final match of round Robin tournament for the championship of the continent, the Russians defeated the team of Scotland with the score 8:6.
Domestic team which are Alexey Timofeev (skip), Alex stukalskaya, Arthur, Ali, Timur Hajikhanov and Artur Razhabov, the results of circular tournament in fourth place with six victories and three defeats in nine games.
On Thursday in the semifinals, the Russians will meet with team Sweden, the other pair will join the team of Norway and Switzerland.
Getting into the top eight guaranteed a team Timofeev hit on the world championship to be held in Edmonton, Canada in 2017.
Meanwhile, much more award-winning Russian women’s team Curling for the tour to finish the group stage also ensured their place in the semi-finals of the European championship.
The assets of Victoria Moiseeva (skip), Uliana Vasilyeva, Galina Arsenkina, Portonovo Yulia and Yulia Guzeevoy six wins and two defeats after eight games. In the table they occupy the third place.
