Female Russian national team on mini-football in Tehran held two friendly matches with the national team of Iran. The first game ended in a draw with the score 3:3, and the second game ended with the victory of the Russian team – 5:3.

According to strict Islamic traditions, women in Iran during the sports competitions are required to wear the hijab. These rules also apply to foreign athletes – heads covered with scarves, not only the hosts but also the Russian athletes.

According to picturesposted by the press service of the Association of mini-football of Russia, the hijab, the Russians held only the second match.

Note that women’s national team of the Russian Federation not for the first time holds a football match wearing the hijab, because in recent years a friendly meeting with Iranian nationality have become traditional.

“Yes, indeed, a friendly game with the national team of Iran have become a good tradition. This trip was no exception. We were very warmly welcomed by the Iranian side. As for the games, the national team of Iran stood as the strongest structure that I was very pleased, because such matches bring a lot of experience as players and coaches,” said head coach Evgeny Kuzmin.
