Russian economic University (REU) named after. G. V. Plekhanov was the first Russian University to receive four stars in the international rating of QS Stars University Ratings, said in a statement on the websiteof the University.
REU started to audit on the methodology of the QS Stars at the beginning of July 2015, three months after the audit results were presented for verification in the international rating Agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds. Then within two months of the research staff of the center for strategic development of the University on request QS Intelligence Unit has provided additional information, clarifications, supporting documents, have agreed verification procedures.
According to the results of audit and verification in December 2015, the University received four stars QS Stars, becoming the first and only University in Russia that has received such a high final grade. Only in the world 22 University have four stars QS Stars, REU them. G. V. Plekhanov was the 23rd – along with universities such as the University of Huddersfield (UK), University of South Florida (USA), University of Nottingham Trent (UK), state University of Latvia.
In the category “quality of education” REU received five stars, the employment of graduates – five, distance/online learning – five, innovation – three, inclusive – three, internationalization, research – two. The infrastructure of the University received a rating of four stars QS Stars, but since this indicator is assessed in the same group that assesses e-learning, according to the methodology QSStars, was chosen as the indicator with the highest rating.
According to the report, among Russian universities two universities have two stars of QS Stars – St. Petersburg state mining University and Volgograd state University. Seven Russian universities currently have three stars QS Stars: Siberian Federal University, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, Novosibirsk state technical University, national research University Nizhny Novgorod state University. N. I. Lobachevsky, national research University Moscow Institute of electronic technology (MIET), national research University-Higher school of Economics (HSE), Russian presidential Academy of national economy and public administration (Ranepa).
The first Russian University, who participated in the QS Stars the University, which in 2012 received a category “three stars” QS Stars for 2012-2014.
QS Stars University Ratings – rating company QS Quacquarelli Symonds, which evaluates the various sides of educational institutions and has become one of the main tools in decision making students worldwide about studying in a particular University.
