The South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung has estimated the losses from curtailing production of the smartphone Galaxy Note 7 – flammable device, on which the company has made a serious bid, would yield about $ 3 billion of losses in the fourth quarter of 2016 and first quarter 2017.

According to preliminary estimates, in the fourth quarter of the current year the losses will amount to about $ 2 billion, and in the first quarter of next 1 billion

In a press release Samsung referenced by TASS indicated that the situation will smooth other models in the lineup – the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge.

Lately Samsung is a huge loss in connection with the failed debut of the Galaxy Note 7, which had to withdraw from the market because of problems with the ignition batteries.

Initially, the Korean company was hoping to do without a complete cessation of production. On 2 September the company announced the suspension of sales of new products. 1 Oct smartphone re-entered the market with a “fixed problem”. However, after only 10 days, the management of the Corporation “security reasons,” announced the complete suspension of production of these smartphones that were supposed to compete with the iPhone 7.
