The head of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin in the joint letter with Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky asked the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to lease the oil company Palace and Park ensemble “Ropsha” in the Leningrad region.

According to the newspaper “Vedomosti” with reference to the letter appeared in the editorial office, the Palace is administered by the Museum-reserve “Peterhof”, which cannot restore the object, so now it is almost completely destroyed.

Sechin and Medina, in turn , agreed that the Palace and Park ensemble, it is possible to recover, and with further adjustment to the “modern usage” at the expense of the company.

According to the business publication, in the case of a positive decision of “Rosneft” will give a plot of land and located on it buildings. The area is almost 390 thousand square meters, and its cadastral value – a little less than 82 thousand rubles.

The company Sechin has promised that after restoration of the Palace ropshinskoe it will be available for tourists, but it will be used “Rosneft” for their own needs, the newspaper said citing sources.

Located near St. Petersburg Ropsha Palace and Park ensemble was the residence of the Romanov dynasty. Palace in the Park began to build in 1725 by the architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. The object is included in the world heritage list of UNESCO.
