Large anti-submarine ship “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” the Northern fleet of the Russian Federation has completed its operation towing suffered the disaster of the Ukrainian fishing vessel anchoring in the area of the Greek island of Gavdos, 30 miles to the South of the island of Crete, said the defense Ministry of Russia on November 25.

According to the defense Ministry, on the morning of 24 November, “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” has received a distress signal from a Ukrainian fishing vessel 097 (the port of registry Mariupol), on Board of which there were seven people – all citizens of Ukraine.

According to the Russian military, the Ukrainian ship lost course on November 21 and two days were in the drift. The rescue operation was complicated by sea state four ball, squally wind and the storm, the report says the defense Ministry.

BOD “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” is in the Mediterranean sea as part of a permanent grouping of the Russian Navy. The campaign of the Russian ship aircraft carrier group to the Mediterranean sea began on 15 October.
