A former employee of the national security Agency (NSA) USA Edward Snowden mockingly commented on the threats by the us authorities to carry out a cyber attack on Russia in response to the alleged involvement of Russian hackers in the US presidential election. According to Snowden, this message is nothing more than a demonstration “saber saber”.
“If the upcoming “secret” U.S. war against Russia in cyberspace was serious about it, firstly, would not declare, and, secondly, we would have talked about the NSA engaged in electronic intelligence, not the CIA,” Snowden said on his Twitter page (quoted by TASS).
He also noted that the Vice-President of the US Joseph Biden “no one has explained the meaning of the expression “covert operation”. Thus he reacted to the statement by Biden, who said that the measures against Russia will indeed be taken, but it will come at a time when their effect will be greatest. What measures was discussed, Biden, however, is not explained.
We will remind, on the eve of the American broadcaster NBC, citing sources in the intelligence services said that the plans of a hacker attack in the US administration are discussing in response to the alleged involvement of Russian hackers in the us presidential elections.
The sources did not elaborate on what specific measures are at issue, but noted that the intelligence office has already started “to open the cyber door” and sets objectives for future operations.
Two former CIA officer, “who worked on Russia,” he told NBC that Washington is not the first time allow the exploration of such a task, however, in the end, always refuses the plan.
In the Kremlin, reports of a possible cyber attack and promised to consider and to prepare. Moscow will respond to the plans of the CIA for hacking attacks, said the Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, noting that “it’s already on the verge of rudeness.”
Later reports of a possible attack commented the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, said that the unpredictability of the threat: “we Have to take action to protect the interests, to hedge their risks. Not only to us, because such unpredictability is dangerous to the whole world.”
