St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko said at a meeting of city government that did not intend to leave his post. He urged his subordinates to stop spreading rumors about the resignation, and those who do not, threatened. 30 Aug RBC, citing anonymous sources reportedthat after the elections to the state Duma Georgy Poltavchenko will leave his post. But he refused the mandate of the Deputy of the state Duma, which was the outcome of the election.

“Every team is a tribe of bums who use the opportunity to gossip and rumors. I specifically mean the information that is being discussed the past months about my leaving. To stop all the talk and work. I’m not going anywhere”, – TASS quoted Poltavchenko.

“I ask all the talk about my possible care to stop. (…) All are requested not to rely on public personnel departments, the more idle quill-driver, who refer to obscure sources. And some (officials) instead of having to deal with the case, exaggerate information, he will go (project) or will not go away. I want to warn these people that I’ll just drive to work”, – he said (quoted by “Interfax”).

The Governor noted that he may retire from office only for three reasons. “If residents do not trust me and they trust me, as shown by the latest polls. Second, if the President of the Russian Federation – the only person who I can move, but such solutions aren’t discussed. And third – if I want to go, but I want you to work,” – said Poltavchenko.

According to RBC, Poltavchenko, who manages the city since 2011, had to leave his post after the elections.
