The suspect in the terrorist attack at the Olympic games 2016 Valdir Pereira de Rocha, was beaten to death by inmates in Brazilian prison, according to the newspaper Globo , citing the state Department of justice.

The incident occurred in the prison of the city várzea Grande, where the Brazilian was transferred the day before it happened. After beating Roche was taken to hospital, where doctors diagnosed death of the brain.

As the newspaper writes, the victim is not disconnected from artificial life support.

Rocha was arrested in July, among the ten suspects in the preparation of terrorist acts at the Olympic games in Brazil in the large-scale security operation dubbed “Hashtag”.

The victim has not yet been convicted since the investigation is not yet complete, notes TASS.
