Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova qualified for the semi-finals of the Final tournament the Women’s tennis Association (WTA), which is taking place these days in Singapore.
On Wednesday, Svetlana got second win in the White group, defeating in the second round of the representative of the Czech Carolina Pliskova with the score 3:6, 6:2, 7:6 (8:6).
Later, the success of polka Agnieszka Radwanska in a duel with the Spaniard Garbine Muguruza guaranteed to Russian participation in the stage of the playoffs.
In the next match, which will be the last in the group stage of the tournament, Svetlana October 28, will meet with Mugurusi. Earlier in Singapore, she beat Radwanska.
“After the first match I didn’t want to fall in the eyes of their fans, knowing what a great responsibility lies on me. That’s why I tried to fight to the end. I get great pleasure from the competition with the strongest tennis players in the world and, of course, from a strong support of the audience,” Kuznetsov was quoted by the press service of the competition.
Add that 31-year-old Kuznetsova for the first time in his career will play in the semi Final of the WTA tournament, which did not break since 2009.
