The Deputy of the state Duma from “United Russia”, Director Stanislav Govorukhin criticized the initiative to accept the law of the Russian nation, saying that he doesn’t like the words “Russian” and “Russian woman”.

“I don’t really understand what’s going on. I know that we for many centuries was the Russian people, and now we are Russian people, in fact,” said member of Parliament in an interview to “Russia 24″.

“But, say, if you go abroad, will lose a passport and go to the police, you will ask: “Who are you?” you say – “the Tungus. – A “Tungus” where is it? – In Russia. – Ah, Russian!” he said.

Govorukhin added that during the Soviet era people used to call themselves the Soviet people. “Now there is no Soviet government, so I don’t understand who we are,” he admitted.

“Russians” – the word itself is disgusting. Maybe it’s caught, but still “Russian”, “Russians”, even purely linguistically, it sounds disgusting,” – said the Director. At the same time, he did not rule out that “it is possible that we were for many centuries the Russian people, and now become Russians.”

Speaking about plans for the inclusion in the Constitution of the concept of ideology, Govorukhin said that it was “a complex issue which requires serious discussion and participation of all people.” “Today to talk sense,” – said co-Chairman of the Central headquarters of the onf.

He added that such steps require a broad public debate, which, in turn, need a lot of money. “The referendum can go ahead, but it has to be prepared. To devote to the problem of the masses of the people. Now this preparation and public discussion require a lot of money. Now is not the time to do it,” said Govorukhin.

The Kremlin did not comment on the Deputy, reports TASS. “This is not a Kremlin issue”, – said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
