The film “girls” by renowned Director Kirill Serebrennikov received the Grand Prix of the festival of Russian cinema “Sputnik over Poland”. According to TASS, the names of the winners announced on the eve of the organizers of the show, which for the tenth time took place in Warsaw.

Second place in the jury of “Sputnik” was awarded to the drama of Alexander Kott “insight” about the blind man who has to start life with a clean slate. Third prize of the festival went to the film “Zoology” by Ivan Tverdovsky of the employee of a provincial zoo.

This year in the framework of the “Sputnik” was held the contest of documentary films. In the end, the best was recognized the film “weather Forecast” by Ivan Tverdovsky about the mission of old ship “Mikhail Somov”, delivering all the necessary Russian polar explorers on the Wrangel island.

The festival “Sputnik over Poland” lasted from 3 to 13 November. It was presented by 126 paintings from Russia. At the end of the festival the best Russian films go on a tour of Polish cities.

In 2014, Kirill Serebrennikov staged “(M)student” on the play by Marius von meyenburg. The production received five nominations for a theatrical prize “Golden mask”. Later, the Director decided to make a film on this play. The film budget amounted to about one million euros.

The Premier was held in the framework of the competition program of the Cannes film festival in may 2016. The film, in which she played Peter Skvortsov, Victoria Isakova, Nikolay Roschin, Irina Rudnitskaya, Svetlana Bragarnik, received the prize of the independent French press just outside the Chalet.
