Kyrgyz authorities two weeks before the presidential election announced the preparation of an armed coup. Blame it on supporters of the main opposition candidate Babanov, namely MP Kanatbek Isayev.

On Saturday, the Prosecutor General’s office of Kyrgyzstan reported about initiation of proceedings against the member of Parliament Kanatbek Isayev for organizing mass disorder and preparation to violent seizure of power. According to the body Isaev, “having entered into a preliminary agreement with certain persons, including representatives of organized criminal groups, engaged in active actions aimed at organizing mass riots”.
As transfers “Interfax”, the Prosecutor’s office confirms it with the materials of the State Committee of national security. According to intelligence agencies, in case of loss of their candidate Isaev and his supporters are recruiting people “to participate in their planned promotions, which will be followed by provocations under the pretext of rigging the vote, followed by escalation in riots and armed clashes”.
The Prosecutor’s office added that the purpose of comprehensive and objective
examining all the circumstances of the criminal case was sent to the Main
investigation Department of the national security Committee to investigate.
In April, the national security Committee has started an investigation against Isayev another criminal case on charges of corruption. According to investigators, Isaev as mayor of Tokmok (Chui oblast, Northern Kyrgyzstan), using his official position, caused losses to the state on a large scale. This case goes to court.
Isayev moved to the presidency of the party “Kyrgyzstan”. The Central election Commission did not register him as a candidate, considering invalid the greater part of the signatures in his support. Then the politician expressed support Babanov.
