In Moscow after renovation opened the metro station “Baumanskaya” Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line.

As recalled during the opening ceremony the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, this station was built in wartime, in 1944, and became a real monument of architecture. “The escalators, which we changed, was 70 years, and changing them was impossible, so I had to close the station and in maximum short time have been replaced not only the old escalators, but also have built additional new. Thus, the capacity of the station increased by a quarter”, – quotes its words Agency “Moscow”.

The head of the metro Dmitry Pegov reported on the implementation of the planned activities and noted that “Bauman” found the escalators of Russian production, economical, with advanced management system.

“The program of replacement of escalators has been going on for several years. Replaced with 18 escalators, and there are still a number of objects, unfortunately, this does not happen without closing stations, but it is a necessity,” he reminded him Sobyanin.

The mayor has promised to leave some public transport, introduced at the time of repair stations, and separately congratulated the students of the MSTU. Bauman.

Station “Baumanskaya” was closed in February 2015. According to the plan as part of the reconstruction had to be replaced by escalators, a life which ended. Now the station will operate four escalators instead of three. On the website of subway it is noted that after the reconstruction capacity of station will increase by almost 7.6 thousand passengers per hour (26.4 per cent). Total passenger traffic at Baumanskaya is 100 thousand people a day.

For the period of repair have started bus “M” and bus “B”, clarifies M24. Given the popularity of the tram passengers this route decided to make permanent. He will continue to walk from Kursky railway station to the Sokolnicheskaya Zastava.
