Twitter users accused the UK Ministry of defence in racism because of the tweet, which was advertised in the army. In the photo to the tweet was a picture of soldiers in the jungle, whose face was in a special camouflage dark green cream. “To serve in the jungle, you need to have a good sense of humor,” mentioned in the post. The British office has already deleted the account and apologized, according to CBS News.

Social network users criticized the post. “Black face, bright jacket is not the most effective camouflage. If you are certainly not trying to pass unnoticed through the group of armed racists”, – wrote the user under the name RTJ.

In the UK the recognition of the rights of black actors portrayed Africans black cream on the face. Called blackface – a kind of theatrical makeup used by comedians for their shows and vaudeville and was a caricature of a face of a black man.

The fashion for such theatrical makeup spread in the first half of the nineteenth century and contributed to the strengthening of stereotypes in relation to representatives of the Negroid race.
