Opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who for the past seven months is the presidential election campaign, despite the statement of the CEC that he has no chance to be registered as a candidate because of a conviction, gathered 98 million rubles in donations from his supporters. According to Navalny, the money his campaign has donated over 70 thousand people, the size of the median donations amounted to 500 rubles. December 13 last year, when the opposition launched the campaign, was discovered 63 regional headquarters.
“Are real Federal campaign throughout the country. 36 headquarters was opened by me personally and each held a big meeting with the volunteers, answering any questions that I asked. The founder of the Fund of struggle against corruption (FBK) also stressed that more than 560 thousand people are ready to sign for his nomination. Navalny said that his supporters are the Federal campaign “under unprecedented pressure for very little money collected from voluntary donations.”
In June, CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova said that Navalny “no chance to be registered for the elections because of his convictions” unless “there will be some miracle and he would write the appeal” against the verdict in the second “case of “Kirovles” of may 3, 2017, which the opposition leader was sentenced conditionally under part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (“Waste, made in especially large size”).
