The head of the CEC of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova in interview with editor-in-chief of radio station “Echo of Moscow” Alexei Venediktov said that he considered it necessary to postpone the single day of voting at the end of September – beginning of October. In addition, she said that the CEC has sent to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation 60 complaints on violation of legislation since the beginning of the election campaign.
Pamfilova also said he was not going to resign. “Leave why I’m not going because I believe that my conscience is absolutely clear, I did everything that could be done with my colleagues. I see strengths and see weaknesses in the near future we together will discuss what we ourselves are flawed,” – said Pamfilova (quoted by “Interfax”).
She added that the overall number of violations in the Duma elections of 2016 has decreased in comparison with the election campaign of 2011. “The results are very complex, and we now analyze them. According to our preliminary information, of course, violations of an order of magnitude less than it was last time, and quality, and character. But that doesn’t mean that they are not. I can’t say that the elections were the same as I would have wanted to see… But I bet they were as open and transparent,” she said.
