Meanwhile, the French press notes that the critics of the film jury was divided. While some of them are really welcomed picture with applause, others she did not like.
According to the survey for Le Parisien , Renault Baronian, it is rare to see in one place a whole gallery of such unpleasant characters. The Director does not like them yourself, and it causes them to hate the viewer, who in the end says to himself that life is too short to watch – for more than two hours – for such despicable people, says the critic.
Other critics, on the contrary, it seemed that using simple metaphors that are understandable to all audiences, the Director reliably draws a portrait of modern Russia.
In L’express “Dislike” called a great movie. “We will add, but it was not opening in the case Zvyagintsev, Director of “Leviathan,” which setting is the highest subtlety, and maybe that’s a contender for the “Palme d’or” 2017″, – stated in the review.
British film critic for The Guardian Peter Bradshaw compared the dramatic intensity of ‘Dislike’ with the classics: Ingmar Bergman, Michelangelo Antonioni, Michael Haneke. “This film offers one of the most unimaginable conflict. He challenges complacent family life, the view that having children is a moral value in itself, it is the duty of the award, after execution of which is not required any more expressions of love” (quoted by RIA “Novosti”), wrote Bradshaw, putting the Zvyagintsev’s film five stars out of five.
“Dislike” is a ruthless look at the excessive selfishness of modern society saturated with information. Every representative lives with his head down and doesn’t want to draw attention to their shortcomings,” – said in the pages of the website of the Cannes film festival columnist for Le Monde and France Press Benoit Pavan. He noted that the new Zvyagintsev’s work is very close in spirit to the famous Ingmar Bergman’s “Scenes from a marriage”.
