The Moscow city court softened the verdict against Andrei Oblique, sentenced to four years in prison for resisting the police and the application to them of violence during the anti-corruption rally on March 26 in Moscow, reports TASS.

“The verdict of the Tver court to change, to recognize the mitigating circumstance of confession of guilt Oblique and sentenced to three years and eight months”, – says the decision of judicial Board on criminal cases of Moscow city court.

At the hearing the protection of the Oblique asked to change a sentence and to commute the sentence. “The crime my client is a danger to society, but the sentence was manifestly excessive, given his full repentance and admission of guilt,” said the lawyer.

“I committed this crime and I’ll admit, but this was not a premeditated attack on police officers,” – said Oblique and also asked the judicial Board of Moscow city court to reduce his sentence.

The Prosecutor, for his part, was asked to leave the earlier decision rendered without changes.

The Tver court of Moscow sentenced the defendant in the “case on March 26″ Andrei Oblique to four years in a General regime colony on August 9. He was found guilty under part 1 and 2 of article 318 of the criminal code (violence against a representative of authorities, dangerous and not dangerous for life and health).
