The CPS will draft a bill on the labeling of red goods high in sugar or salt. About it as transfers TASS, said the head of the Department Anna Popova at the meeting of the Presidium of the Federation Council and the Board on agriculture and natural resources.
“We offer a new approach to food labelling – color display. Healthy foods green, moderate – yellow, red when the product is high in sugar, salt or contains only substitutes. We are ready to proceed with the development of this bill,” said a senior official.
Be confined to the indication of the composition of the food product on the packaging not because it’s not effective enough, says Popov. According to her, it is assumed that in the case of the bill for overly sweet or salty foods will be applied to the strip of corresponding color.
Such labeling has been adopted in several other countries, she said. “The population should be able to determine – he buys useful or cheap (product). This does not mean that we introduce a ban, some sort of regulation. It is informing the consumer about the totality of the substances incorporated in the food”, she concluded.

The creation of a United informational is carried out in the framework of the project “Strategies to improve the quality of food products in Russia up to 2030″, which the authors believe that in the market there are products that do not meet the needs of the majority of the population.
