The delegation of deputies and businessmen from Italy, arrived in the night of 14 August in the Crimea, agreed with the regional authorities on cooperation in various spheres. Italian MPs and businessmen visited the statue of “polite people” in Simferopol, making photos on the background of the sculpture.

The President of the Parliament of the Italian region of Veneto, Roberto Zambetti and the speaker of the state Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov signed on Friday in Simferopol, a joint statement on the development of interregional cooperation in trade, economic, tourist, scientific and cultural spheres, informs “Interfax”. The document States that the parties will contribute to the development of cultural and tourist projects, including the twinning of cities, as well as strengthening relationships between people of Russian and Italian regions.

Also planned cooperation of economic entities of the two regions, including the partnership of manufacturing and trading companies, and mutual direct investments, implementation of joint scientific projects and research, said in a statement. The main element in development of bilateral relations of the Crimea and Veneto will be regular exchange of delegations and participation in exhibitions, trade fairs and congresses in their territories.

In addition, during the visit of the member of the Executive Council of the Italian city of Padua Marina Buffoni and the head of the Simferopol city Council Viktor Ageev signed a Memorandum on twin cities, reports TASS. Now in Simferopol 11 sister cities: Donetsk, Irkutsk, Kecskemet (Hungary), Novocherkassk, Omsk, Ruse (Bulgaria), Salem (USA), Heidelberg (Germany), Chernivtsi (Ukraine), Eskisehir (Turkey), South-Western administrative district of Moscow.

The Italian delegation started a working visit with a visit to the monument “polite people”, installed in the square of the Republic in Simferopol in June 2016. Meanwhile, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine protested the visit of the Italian delegation to the Crimea, said on the eve of the publication of the Fakty ICTV. According to deputies, such a visit is a flagrant violation of Ukrainian legislation and norms of international law. Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on national security and defence Ivan Vinnik urged Ukrainian foreign Ministry to contact the friendship group in the Congress that has promoted the imposition of sanctions against the Italian parliamentarians.

The visit to Crimea without the consent of the Ukrainian side violates the Ukrainian legislation and international agreements, said the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on foreign Affairs Anna hopko. The Italian delegation of 18 people arrived in Crimea on Friday, October 14. The aliens will stay on the Peninsula until Sunday, October 16. The delegation is comprised of members from five regions of Italy (Veneto, Liguria, Lombardy, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna), the parliaments which had previously adopted the resolutionurging the Italian government to recognize the inclusion of Crimea into the Russian Federation, as well as to seek the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions.

Together with parliamentarians in the Crimea arrived Italian business owners and executives working in the field of water treatment, wine making, metal production and fabrication, agricultural, food, pet food and animal feed for livestock and fish.

In particular, the delegation included senators Bartolomeo Pepe, Paola De Pin and Ivana Simeoni, member Nicola Ciraci, journalist Giulietto Chiesa, member of the Executive Council of Padua Marina Buffoni, President of the Parliament of the Italian region of Veneto, Roberto Zambetti, the Deputy of regional Parliament of Veneto Stefano Valdegamberi, the President of the company Scandiuzzi Fulvio Santucci.

Earlier, the representatives of Italy said that during the visit to the Peninsula plan to meet the business climate and investment opportunities in the region and to sign a number of agreements, reports RIA “Novosti”. In particular, foreigners will be to discuss plans for the participation of the Italian delegation at the III international Yalta economic forum, which will be held in Crimea in 2017.

Some of the members of the current delegations have already visited in Crimea in may 2016.
