A letter to a former member of the Beatles John Lennon to go under the hammer more than 30 thousand pounds (over 3 million rubles). It comes to thank-you postcard, signed by the musician at a young age, reports the British newspaper The Independent.

In the postcard 11-year-old Lennon returns to his aunt Harriet (mother’s sister), and thanked her for the gifts received at Christmas in 1951. In particular, future musician for a book about famous ships, red sweater and a towel with his name.

“I think it’s the best towel I’ve ever seen,” writes young John. He also wished my aunt a happy New year. The letter contains few grammatical errors.

This text is the earliest known written by Lennon. Postcard will be auctioned, which is expected to take place in April.

Earlier in the same way was sold a guitar that belonged at various times to Lennon and one other member of the Beatles Ringo Starr. In December 2015 a tool made by Rose-Morris Rickenbacker, went under the hammer at auction house Julien’s trading for 910 thousand dollars, transmitted RIA “Novosti”.

In the same auction was sold to Starr’s drum set. The lot was purchased for $ 2.2 million.
