World champion racing 1987 Australian Wayne Gardner was arrested during a stage of the world championship on highway-ring motorcycle racing in the Japanese Motegi because of clashes with other viewers.

The incident happened after the 57-year-old Gardner scratched his car three Japanese. He then allegedly grabbed by the collar all three of them in turn and pushed.

“He was arrested on assault charges inside the track Twin Ring Motegi,” said a police spokesman, commenting on the arrest of Wayne.

Gardner himself denies all charges and says he was just trying to get rid of the capture from one of the men. In Tokyo, the Aussie came to see a performance by his son Remy, who acts in the Moto2 class, says “R-Sport”.
