Self-propelled platform he called “the next form of conducting Arctic research.” Now this platform is used by Canada in the Antarctic.
The Ministry of the environment noted that, despite the relatively high cost of such platforms, their use will allow Russia to reach a qualitatively new level of work “on the background of the planned revitalization of research activities in the Northern latitudes”. According to the Ministry, the use of this equipment will also give impetus to the development of new technologies in Russia and will allow you to get the domestic shipbuilding industry.
