President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach still don’t understand why the Russian athletes at the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro were subjected to sanctions. This opinion, according to TASS, the highest Olympic official expressed in an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri.

“As for the suspicion about the possible deviations in the Russian anti-doping system, I still can’t understand why the Russian athletes were supposed to be subjected to sanctions at the summer Games, – quotes Agency the Bach. If the infringements were, they were done by the federations to which the athletes of summer sports have nothing”.

Recall that the independent Commission of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) under the leadership of Richard McLaren July 18, submitted a report on doping the machinations of the Russians at the winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi and the presence in Russia of the state system to conceal a positive doping tests.

On its basis, WADA recommended the IOC to disqualify Russian athletes from participation in the competition, and the IOC has delegated the right to impose sanctions of the relevant federations on sports.
