Athlete Yulia Stepanova made the decision not to hold a press conference, during which she planned to make a statement about his participation in the Olympics.

As reports TV channel “Match TV” with reference to the immediate environment of the athlete, this decision Julia took security reasons.

Stepanova, who became an informant for the world anti-doping Agency (WADA), suggests that her family was in danger because of her information about doping in Russian sport.

In 2013, Stepanova was disqualified for two years for doping. Julia and her husband Vitaly Stepanov became the main heroes of the film ARD television on the use of doping Russian athletes on the basis of which WADA has accused the Russian anti-doping rule violations, and the International Association of athletics federations (IAAF) has suspended our athletes from participating in international competitions, including the 2016 Olympic games.

After the film’s release in December 2014, Stepanov left Russia and sought asylum in Canada. WADA has paid remuneration to spouses for providing information on doping.

Most Stepanova allowed to participate in the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro as a neutral athlete, while the Russian national team in athletics was removed from these competitions.
