The Israelis want to force to ask providers about access to porn sites – this limitation provides for the bill, which on Sunday approved unanimously the Committee on legislation. The project has yet to vote the country’s Parliament – the Knesset, reports NEWSru Israel.

The initiators of the bill were made by deputies Miki Zohar (“Likud”) and Shuli Mualem (“Bayt Yehudi”). According to the Deputy of the Zohar, the purpose of the bill is to protect children from unwanted Internet content.

The bill proposes to introduce the practice in which a user wishing to get to these resources will have to contact your ISP with the request. After that, the provider should verify that the request came from an adult.

This kind of proposal is not the first time put forward as bills in the Knesset. In December 2013 MP from the party “Israel Our home” Orly levy-Abekasis initiated a bill blocking access to websites calling for violence, containing pornography and other material that “may harm children”. The bill was approved at the interministerial Committee on legislation and passed the preliminary reading, but in the end, was never adopted.

NEWSru Israel recalls that on the territory of the Gaza strip for the fifth year providers block “unwanted content”. The corresponding decree was dated August 30, 2012, the Ministry of information in the government of Hamas to protect the Palestinian society.
