The Agency refused to comment this information. “Before the court decision, the Ministry of culture has not commented on the situation with the state Secretary, Deputy Minister of culture Gregory Pirumov,” – said the press service of the Ministry.
A criminal case against several leaders of the culture associated with the embezzlement of state funds allocated for work on a number of objects of cultural heritageincluding the Hermitage Museum, Novodevichy monastery and Izborsk fortress, was initiated in March of this year. The newspaper Kommersant wrote , citing informed sources, that all the defendants in the “case of restorers” admitted his guilt and actively repented, offsetting some of the damage. In October, the jail left the businessman Nikita Kolesnikov, which the court changed the measure of restraint to house arrest.
