According to “Kommersant” Ilya Yurov was detained by border guards at Kiev’s Borispol airport back on November 20 – right after he arrived from Cyprus. “Vedomosti” reported that Yurov arrived in Kiev from London. It after inspection was detained for 48 hours. The occasion was the Interpol warrant issued at the request of the Russian interior Ministry investigation and the arrest of a banker who is accused in the homeland in a large fraud.

“Kommersant” believes that the extradition of a banker in Russia is possible despite the difficulties in relations between Russia and Ukraine, representatives of law enforcement agencies of the two countries have maintained contact at official level and in a personal communication.
