Chechen girl is transgender, born a man, but a few years ago replaced the floor, ran and Russia. According to her, she had to go to the United States because of the constant threats and attacks on her in the center of Moscow. In an interview with TV channel “Rain” on condition of anonymity, she said that her relatives in Chechnya, came unknown, demanding to have her killed in order “not to offend the Chechen people”.
In conversation with journalists the girl called first Chechen transgender. In October 2015, Presnensky district of Moscow has been attacked, in which she received two stab wounds and was hospitalized with extensive lung injury. The attackers, according to her, attacked with the words: “When will you stop disgracing your kind.”
The attack is associated with persecution on the LGBT community in Chechnya, which, in her words, began in 2007, when the presidency of the Republic took Kadyrov. “What is happening now, started in the seventh year. Just then was not advertised, but began from the time when the first detention, murder,” she explained, noting that he personally knows at least two Chechens who were killed in Grozny because of their sexual orientation.
Shortly before the attack the girl’s relatives in Chechnya was unknown and demanded to have her killed. “Or you get the person who offends all Chechen society, even by their presence, or we find the body and bring you,” reported the girl talk with her relatives. According to her, from her family members also demanded that they forced her to publicly deny that she was a man.
While in 2002, told reporters the girl, she worked in the administration of the President of Chechnya. “I even met with Kadyrov-senior, was very nice man, and no negative issues on his part, I didn’t notice, but I had plucked eyebrows and it was clear that I clearly stand out from the crowd,” she recalls.
Initially, the girl planned to emigrate to Argentina, but on the way to the country, while on a layover in Mexico city, she received a message on mobile phone stating that the attackers know where she was going. Because of this, the girl changed her mind and decided to go to the USA.
Earlier, on 18 may the European Parliament at its plenary session in Strasbourg adopted a resolution calling on the European Commission, the EU and the Council of Europe to support the Russian law enforcement authorities in the investigation of messages about the oppression in Chechnya, people of different sexual orientation.
In April, “Novaya Gazeta” published an article, which reported on the mass arrests in Chechnya, people of different sexual orientation. Press Secretary of the head of Chechnya, Alvi Karimov denied the information of the newspaper, and the press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, said that no reason not to trust the information about the absence of any persecution of gays presented by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
In turn, the Commissioner for human rights Tatyana Moskalkova proposed to create special group which will consider appeals from gays about violations of their rights. At the meeting with Moskalkova in early may Russian President Vladimir Putin this idea was supported.
The Council at the head of the Chechen Republic on development of civil society and human rights stated that it is not even found indirect evidence for an article about the persecution of homosexuals. The Chechen authorities continue to insist that the Republic did not have homosexuals.
